I was doing some research for a client when I spotted the Isala Collection on the IKEA website. I think it may have debuted last summer, but our trips to IKEA are few and far between since the nearest location is in Minneapolis. The oversized turnings of the legs and otherwise clean lines immediately reminded me of the new line by Source for West Elm that I mentioned last week, though Isala definitely veers more towards the traditional than the West Elm pieces. Any of these four designs could be incorporated into a variety of design settings.
The wardrobe is my favorite piece. I would use it as a linen closet at the end of a hallway or for storage in an entryway. It’s only $169.00, so I wouldn’t hesitate to paint it a different color if lavender isn’t your thing. I think it’s a great candidate for a two tone paint treatment or a combination of paint and wallpaper. You could also mount mirrors and hooks inside the doors, and I would definitely switch out the matching knobs for something more expensive looking for a bit of contrast.
